Jackyl/DMC (a.k.a. Darrell Mac) "Just Like A Negro"
This video was part of a collaboration between the legendary rapper and rock band DMC and Jackyl. This song was quite controversial, hence, the lyrics, but actually an homage to the legendary African American rock and rollers that helped to form what rock and roll is today.
The video was directed by Kyle Harbaugh, a frequent collaborator. The group wanted a very live, rock and roll feel to the video. The concept features actors portraying Robert Johnson, Chuck Berry, Jimi Hendrix, and George Clinton.
I shot this video on a RED camera. The setup took a full day with the lighting design done by myself and Trevor Lachapelle. We shot everything in one day. Check it out.
